Ben Pringle

Ipswich Town: Pringle to be a crisp signing for Tractor Boys

Ben Pringle was a player who caught the eye at Championship side Rotherham in the 2014/15 campaign, three goals and seven assists being the things that glimmered amid a frustrating season for the Millers.

Pringle’s displays helped, in part, to preserve the Championship status of the South Yorkshire side, coming after a 2013/14 League One in which his five goals and 13 assists for Rotherham helped Steve Evans’ side gain promotion from English football’s thrird tier. This combination of footballing prowess helped to furnish him a move to Fulham, the Londoners snagging him on a free transfer in June 2015.

In a 2015/16 season that has seen Pringle only make 15 appearances totalling 913 minutes and scoring just two goals, it seems that he could very well be on the move again courtesy of the emergency loan window, with a fellow Championship side in the market to make a crisp move for 26-year-old Pringle.

The Sudbury Mercury report that Pringle is due to sign for Ipswich Town on an emergency 93-day loan, the Tractor Boys following up the interest that they had in the set-piece specialist that they had before he plumped to exchange South Yorkshire and the New York Stadium for Craven Cottage and the bright lights of the The Big Smoke.

The Sudbury Mercury say that “Pringle will help fill a void in the squad left following Tommy Oar’s departure and Ryan Fraser’s injury,” Fraser looking at a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a hamstring tear.

In other news the Mercury say that Ipswich will not be pursuing their interested in 33-year-old Lloyd Dyer whi had his Watford contract terminated by mutual consent with talks having not proved fruitful.
