MATCH PREVIEW: Peterborough United Vs Bradford City

Two sides with a realistic chance of reaching the League One play-offs will battle it out at the ABAX stadium on Saturday, both hoping to close the gap on 6th place.

Peterborough are in 8th place, three points off the play-offs, and three points ahead of their opponents for Saturday’s match.

Form:

The Posh have suffered a blip in form recently, with just one win in their last four league matches.

Similarly to their hosts, Bradford have only won once in their last four league matches, and only twice since the turn of the year.

Player News:

Peterborough boss Graham Westley has a fully fit squad available, but is expected to rest players following their FA Cup replay with West Brom.

Bradford are expected to sign West Ham midfielder Josh Cullen on loan in the next few days, and he will be expected to go straight into the squad for the match on Saturday.

Key Players:

Erhan Oztumer (Peterborough United) – The Turkish Messi, as he’s known to fans at the ABAX, has been in wonderful form all season, and has been key to the success Posh have had under Graham Westley. The playmaker of the squad, and capable of scoring goals as well as assisting them, Posh will need their number 10 to be on top of his game to take three points from this one.

Wes Thomas (Bradford City) – The on loan Birmingham city striker has the potential to unlock any League One defence. A proven goalscorer at Championship level, the forward will be hoping to get off the mark for his current loan club. Peterborough’s defence has been known to leak goals, and Thomas will see this as the perfect opportunity.

Our Prediction:

An FA Cup tie just three days beforehand could impact the Posh players, but they should have the quality to see off an inconsistent Bradford City side. Peterborough United 3-2 Bradford City
