Cardiff City, Cardiff City Board unsure of Slade’s future

Cardiff City Board unsure of Slade’s future

The Cardiff City heirarchy have not yet made a decision on Manager Russell Slade’s future at the club according to Wales Online.

It is understood that a new deal is yet to be offered to Slade and the Cardiff City Manager recently admitted that he was unsure whether he would still be in charge of The Bluebirds next season.

City Owner Vincent Tan is expected to visit the UK later this week and will attend Saturday’s Championship fixture against struggling Charlton Athletic at The Valley. It is not known whether Russell Slade’s future will be on the agenda during Tan’s visit.

Cardiff City are currently 5 points behind the Championship Play Off places and the club’s heirarchy may wait to see whether The Bluebirds reach the end of season Play Offs before discussing their plans for next season.

While the club have had a decent season in the Championship, their current league position is believed to be lower than the position expected by the Cardiff City Board. The Bluebirds’ dwindling home attendances have also become a concern in recent months.

After Saturday’s trip to The Valley, Cardiff City face a real test of their promotion credentials with a home fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion before a tough trip to Middlesbrough.
