Blues Boss In Line For Derby Job

Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett is one of the early favourites for the vacant Derby County job, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The Rams, currently 5th in the Sky Bet Championship table, sacked Head Coach Paul Clement last night after just eight months in charge at the iPro Stadium.

Derby have failed to win in seven league games since their 2-0 win at home to Fulham on Boxing Day.

Rowett’s side by contract lie 3 points outside of the Play-off places in 8th but results have been kinder to the Blues recently including a 3-0 win over Derby.

The Birmingham boss who spent 3 seasons at Derby as a player, currently sits second with bookmakers Paddy Power at 4/1 behind Rams’ Academy Director Darren Wassall who takes charge of the club following Clement’s departure.

Also tipped to be in the running are David Moyes and Garry Monk at 11/2, Nigel Pearson at 7/1 and Dennis Bergkamp at 10/1, while ex-Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood is priced at 11/1.
