Derby County v Preston North End – Match Preview

Promotion chasing Derby County welcome mid table Preston North End to the IPro Stadium this evening looking to continue their assault on the Championship automatic promotion places.

The Rams are currently six points behind Middlesbrough who currently hold the final automatic promotion place while Paul Clement’s side have also played one game more than the Teessiders and have a worse goal difference.

Derby County go into this evening’s important clash without a win in their last five matches but Manager Paul Clement does not have any fresh injury concerns to contend with.

The Rams boss could be set to hand new signing Marcus Olsson a debut at left back in place of Stephen Warnock while there is also plenty of competition for starts in midfield and attack with Johnny Russell, Abdoul Camara, Craig Bryson and Jeff Hendrick all battling for the opportunity to impress.

Preston North End are set to hand a debut to on loan Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard in place of Preston born Red Devils academy graduate Sam Johnstone. The Lilywhites welcome back skipper Tom Clarke  following injury but star striker Jermaine Beckford will miss tonight’s clash with a knee injury.

The match promises to be an interesting battle between two clubs who have found wins few and far between of late.
