Swansea City have been linked with Swindon Town midfielder Yaser Kasim in a deal worth up to £1 million, according to South Wales Evening Post.
Kasim’s current contract with Swindon runs out at the end of the season and the League One club could be tempted to cash-in rather than lose the midfielder for nothing in summer.
New Swansea head coach Francesco Guidolin has confirmed that he is looking to sign a central midfielder after the sale of Jonjo Shelvey to Newcastle United and Kasim is one of the club’s targets.
Kasim is known for being good on the ball and had a good year for Swindon last season. Despite the midfielder’s form dwindling this season, he could still be a good signing.
Premier League clubs are believed to have watched Kasim in the past. Swindon chairman Lee Power said: “Swansea were at a game I believe, and we always have a look at the list of people, so Swansea were there and also West Ham was there at a game.
“We don’t say they are looking at Yaser, but we make sure we have a look to see what scouts are there and they were senior people, so we’ll just wait and see. He had a decent game and we’ll see what happens with him.”
