McCormack ‘looks certain to stay’ at Fulham

Get West London understands that Ross McCormack is set to remain at Fulham and is no longer looking to leave the club before tonight’s 11pm transfer deadline. The player handed in a transfer request a few days ago, after Middlesbrough signalled their intent to sign him. However it is looking highly likely that he won’t leave and is to be offered a new contract.

Hull City were also rumoured to be interested in the former Leeds United forward. There was talk of a £9million bid coming in from a Championship club to lure the Scottish international away from Craven Cottage. However the player is set to stay with the Cottagers.

It was also reported that a clause in McCormack’s current deal suggests that once he turned 32, now 29, he would be offered a ‘non-playing role’. However the player has suggested that he is not interested in this being the case any more.

Middlesbrough look to have reignited their interest in Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes, suggesting that McCormack is no longer on their radar. Steve Bruce is unlikely to be signing McCormack, especially for the price the London club are asking for.

Therefore after a rollercoaster few days in the few days that has passed, McCormack is quite likely to remain with the club and line up for the Whites in their weekend encounter against Derby County.
