Cardiff City have today announced the signing of Leciester City forward Tom Lawrence on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Highly rated at the King Power Stadium, Lawrence had been linked heavily with a link to Leeds United this transfer window but the Bluebirds have won the race for his signature.
A diminutive player standing at 5’9″, Lawrence started his career with Premier League giants Manchester United and was on the books of the Red Devils for 12 years.
Despite the longevity of his stay at Old Trafford, the 22 year-old made just one senior league appearance for United before being loaned out to Carlisle United, and then Yeovil Town.
After returning to Manchester following the expiration of these loan deals, the Welsh international signed a permanent deal at Leicester in 2014 on a four-year contract.
Lawrence has again found first team action hard to come by and has made just three first team appearances for the Foxes, leading to a loan spell at Rotherham United last season.
At the start of this season Lawrence signed with fellow Championship club Blackburn until January and went on to make 21 appearances for the Rovers before penning a new loan deal with Cardiff City.
