Leeds United boss confirms ‘huge’ offers for two star players

Leeds United’s boss Steve Evans has confirmed during an interview with Radio Yorkshire that there are ‘huge money’ offers on the table for youngster’s Charlie Taylor and Lewis Cook (pictured).

The Whites have already sold fellow youngster Sam Byram to Premier League side West Ham during the transfer window and will be reluctant to let either Taylor or Cook leave the club before the transfer deadline.

In the interview, Evans said;

“When you see those two lads play like they’ve been playing, we have to hope that nothing gets ridiculous.”

“There is already huge money on the table – huge money. But it’s my understanding, when I spoke to the president this morning, that they can put whatever amount of dollars or sterling on the table, they’re going to be at Elland Road.”

22 year-old defender Taylor has made 47 league appearances for the Yorkshire club since making his debut back in 2011, and has enjoyed loan spells at Bradford, York City, Fleetwood Town and Scottish club Inverness.

England U19 international Lewis Cook is one of the Whites hottest prospects at the moment, and at just 18 years of age has already made 63 first team appearances for the club.

Evans did not disclose who had made the bids, or any specific amounts, but unless a significant bid is made it is unlikely Leeds will sell either player.
