Tottenham beat Manchester United to signing of Fulham starlet

Reports emerging today are suggesting that Premier League side Tottenham have beaten off competition from both Manchester United and French club Monaco for the signature of Fulham’s Moussa Dembele.

The 19 year-old has attracted interest from several clubs this transfer window with the striker’s contract set to expire in the summer, but it appears Tottenham have signed the striker in a deal worth £5 million.

After undergoing a medical at Spurs today, Dembele is set to be officially announced as a Tottenham player either later tonight or tomorrow.

Formerly on the books at Paris Saint-Germain, Dembele has showed maturity beyond his years while at Fulham and leaves Craven Cottage with a record of nine league goals in 36 appearances.

Currently a member of the France U20 squad, and having represented Les Blues at four other youth levels, Dembele moves to White Hart Lane with a glowing reference and is seen as one of Europe’s next big talents.

Along with fighting off Manchester United and Monaco, fellow Premier League clubs Everton and Liverpool had also expressed interest in the attacker with European giants Bayern Munich and Juventus also having tracked the youngster.
