Leeds United table £1 million bid for Belgian winger

Leeds United are remaining active in the transfer window and are rumoured to have made a £1 million bid for NEC winger Anthony Limbombe, a player the Whites have been heavily linked with for a while.

The 21 year-old Belgian forward has reportedly told Nijmegen that he wants to move away from the club who currently sit 4th in the Eredivise.

After helping the club win promotion from the Eerste Divise just last season, Nijmegen really are flying in Holland’s top flight with Limbombe scoring six goals in his 18 league appearances.

If Leeds are to sign the player they will have to fend off competition from Spanish La Liga side Granada who are also interested in the former Belgian U19 international.

Limbombe started his career in his home country with Racing Genk and, after signing with them as an 11 year-old, went on to spend nine years with the club.

Since joining Nijmegen in the summer of 2014, Limbombe has gone on to make 50 appearances for the Dutch outfit and net himself 19 goals.

Boss Steve Evans is remaining active in the transfer window and yesterday saw bids for both Barnsley’s Sam Winnall and Crystal Palace’s Frazier Campbell rejected.
