Bruce: Hernandez Not For Sale

Hull City manager has insisted club top scorer Abel Hernandez is not for sale after recent reports have linked the striker with a move to Arsenal.

Since the beginning of December, the Uruguayan international has scored a goal a game for the Tigers and remains a key part in the club’s chances of an immediate return to the Premier League.

Speaking to journalists ahead of Hull’s FA Cup tie with Bury on Saturday, Bruce indicated his 15 goal star striker is not subject of any bids from the Gunners.

Bruce said; “Abel’s done very very well and of course he’ll hear all the speculation but some of it unfortunately I have to say the media these days they do talk some rubbish.

“I think I’ve been chasing 45 players in the last month and as I’ve said repeatedly no matter who it is, who they come in for, we’d be crazy to start dismantling the team now and I’m sure Arsene Wenger understands that as far as we’re concerned with Abel.

“I spoke to his staff only a couple of days ago and they’ve got their signing (Mohammed Elneny) so I don’t think there’s any substance in that one.”

Hull City travel to Gigg Lane on Saturday to face Bury in the FA Cup Fourth Round.
