German group ‘interested’ in Bradford investment

An unnamed German group are interested in investing in League One side Bradford City, according to the Telegraph and Argus.

However, The Bantams, who are currently 10th in the third tier, are not expecting any imminent results from the talks.

Gianni Paladini failed with a takeover bid for the club in the summer and it is believed that they have been contacted by a number of interested parties since.

The German group are said to have surfaced at the same time as Paladini was trying to secure a deal for the West Yorkshire club.

They have kept in touch with the Bradford board since then and were even invited to attend a game at Valley Parade earlier in the season, alongside current co-chairman Julian Rhodes.

However, despite ‘occasional’ talks taking place, sources at Bradford have confirmed that they do not expect anything to happen in regard to investment any time soon.

The club will be hoping that the speculation doesn’t lead to distractions on the pitch, as they hunt for a League One play off place.

Despite a drop in form of late, The Bantams are only five points off sixth, with two games in hand over most of their rivals.
