Leeds United: Loanee to stay with club

Leeds United loanee Tom Adeyemi will not have his loan spell at the club cut short, reports Wales Online.

The midfielder, who is owned by Leeds Championship rivals Cardiff, is on loan at Elland Road until the end of the season.

The 24 year old has only featured in one minute this year.

He was introduced in the 89th minute of Leeds 1-0 win over Bristol City on Saturday, but had not featured before that since December 29th last year.

However, Leeds boss Steve Evans has told BBC Radio Leeds that their is no prospect of the midfielders loan spell being cut short.

He said:

“There was no recall put in place otherwise it might have been an option.

“I had a chat with Tom a couple of weeks ago and said I was looking to bring one or two in in that area.

“The kid said he wants to fight. He’s got a loan until the end of the season here and plays until the end of the season. So I respect that.”

Evans also insisted that he would not freeze out Adeyemi if he felt he deserved his place in the side, saying:

“The one thing Tom Adeyemi will take to his bed every night is that I am the most honest manager he will ever play for. I’m not saying the best, far from it, but I’ll be the most honest.

“If it comes to picking him because he deserved to be picked, he’ll be picked. He’s been good in training the last three or four days, and that’s why he was in our thoughts today to come on.”

Adeyemi played regularly for Leeds at the start of the season and has still managed to make 20 appearances for The Whites this campaign. He has two goals.
