Port Vale have today completed the signing of experienced striker Theo Robinson on a deal for the rest of the season. He joins after recently leaving Ladbrokes Premiership side Motherwell and can add another club to his already lengthy footballing CV.
The 27-year-old, in his defence, has a large number of loan moves which has significantly bolstered the number of teams that he has played for. Port Vale become the twelve club that the Jamaican international has represented throughout his professional career.
Rob Page was delighted to add Robinson to his squad, especially as earlier in the day he signed winger Matthew Kennedy on loan from Cardiff City,
“We’re over the moon to have added Theo to the squad.
“He’s a striker who looks to run in behind and score goals and he’s got vast experience in the Football League as well.”
Robinson is free to make his debut tomorrow night against former club Doncaster Rovers and the former Derby County and Huddersfield Town man says that it is a good game for him to start his Vale career,
“It’s obviously at my old club so it would be more and more interesting,” the latest addition to the squad commented.
“I can’t wait to play against my old teammates and hopefully get the most important thing which is the points.”
Port Vale sit one place and one point ahead of tomorrow night’s opponents Doncaster in the League One standings. They are however one of the lowest scorers in the whole league, so signing Robinson is clearly an attempt to improve their ammunition in the final third. Their current top scorer in the league is AJ Leitch-Smith with six.
