QPR launch multi-million pound bid for League One striker

QPR have made a £3 million bid for Peterborough United striker Conor Washington, according to the Daily Mail.

Having sold star striker Charlie Austin to Premier League side Southampton in a deal worth £4 million at the weekend, QPR have wasted little time seeking a replacement, having now seemingly pinpointed Washington as their number one transfer target.

23-year-old Washington is one of the many lethal attacking weapons in a Peterborough side that has scored the second most goals in League One, with the youngster contributing 10 of the club’s 52 total league goals so far.

The youngster has been in high demand for a number of weeks, with various Championship clubs having signalled their interest in Washington as the January transfer window closed in.

According to the Daily Mail, Peterborough have given permission for the young starlet to travel to Loftus Road to speak to the London club.

Nine points off the playoff places in what has been a disappointing season so far for QPR, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side will be hoping that Washington can be the man to fire them up the Championship in the coming months.
