Derby County linked with £7 million full back bid

Championship promotion chasers Derby County have been linked with a £7 million transfer bid for Hull City and Scotland star Andy Robertson according to The Daily Record.

The Tigers signed the 21 year-old full back from Dundee United 18 months ago for a deal worth around £3 million. Robertson has made a huge impact for Hull City this season and his good performances have reportedly interested Premier League clubs Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Swansea City.

The Glasgow born left back started his footballing career as a youngster at Celtic but did not make the grade with the Bhoys and joined fellow Scottish side Queens Park. Robertson’s performances for the Hampden Park based club impressed Dundee United Manager Jackie McNamara who signed the player in June 2013.

Robertson went on to have an excellent first season in Scotland’s top tier with The Arabs scooping the PFA Young Player of the Season award and he was named in the Scottish Premier League’s Team of the Year.

Derby County are currently battling Hull City for an automatic promotion spot in the Championship and Rams Manager Paul Clement is continually looking to improve his squad in an attempt to seal promotion to the Premier League.

Should Robertson leave Hull City, Dundee United are likely to be entitled to around 10% of any transfer fee received by the club.
