League Two bottom club York City face Newport County at Bootham Crescent on Saturday afternoon looking to banish the bad memories of their damaging New Year defeat at Yeovil Town.

The Minstermen have won just 2 home league matches all season and Manager Jackie McNamara is aware that improved home form will be a key factor in the club’s Football League survival bid.

City are expected to hand debuts to new loan signings Luke Hendrie and Ntumba Massanka while Kenny McEvoy could make his first appearance for the club as a York City player after joining The Minstermen on a permanent basis following the termination of his contract at Tottenham Hotspur.

Winger Michael Coulson could make a surprise early return to the side after injury. Long term injured attacking duo Emile Sinclair and Jake Hyde are again unfit to feature.

Newport County could arrive at Bootham Crescent under a new Manager with Warren Feeney expected to be handed the job after John Sheridan’s departure earlier this week.

The Exiles will be without Alex Rodman, Yan Klukowski and Lennell John-Lewis who all miss out with hamstring injuries. Medy Elito returns to the side after serving his one match suspension.

The match promises to be a tense affair with both clubs in desparate need for 3 points.
