Millwall have extended the loan spell of Newcastle United winger, Shane Ferguson, until the 23rd of January, according to a statement on the club’s website.
The former Birmingham City and Rangers loanee has made 25 appearances for the London side, scoring twice.
Ferguson has a massive 2016 ahead of him, with the European Championships looming in June, and will surely want to secure a spot in Northern Ireland’s historic squad travelling to France.
The 24-year-old’s future at Newcastle United is one of many doubts, with Ferguson being loaned out since 2013.
On the other hand, Millwall currently sit just one place and three points outside the play off positions. They will surely look to secure promotion back into The Championship following last season’s relegation, and will continue their league campaign on January 17th, when the side take on Port Vale.
As for this weekend, Millwall will have a distraction from their promotion worries when they take on League Two outfit Oxford United, in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Semi-final, this saturday
