After dispensing with local rivals Rotherham in Saturday’s FA Cup Third Round tie at Elland Road, thanks to goals from debutant Mustapha Carayol and Souleymane Doukara, the Whites went into the hat as ball 27 for tonight’s FA Cup Fourth Round draw.
Leeds fans didn’t have to wait long to be put out of their agony as to who their opponents would be for the upcoming round of games on the 29/30 January, Leeds being the fourth ball drawn out of the FA-embossed red bag.
Avoiding the big clubs like Arsenal (who drew Burnley at home), Manchester United (who drew Derby away), Manchester City (who are away to the winners of the Wycombe vs Aston Villa replay) or Chelsea (who are away to the winners of the Northampton vs MK Dons replay), Leeds instead travel to the winners of the Eastleigh vs Bolton Wanderers replay.
With news that Leeds United could be facing the prospect of a tie against the lowest ranked side still in the competition (they sit 5th in the National League) or Championship bottom side Bolton (who are embroiled in the depths of a financial crisis), fans of the Whites took to Twitter.
Eastleigh or Bolton? Leeds United fans react on Twitter.
This is where we could be heading…. Chaos. #LUFC #FACup pic.twitter.com/WVJv4RiRKn

Dear FA Cup Gods, when Steve Evans said he wanted the worst team left in the Cup, he meant Villa not chuffing Eastleigh #lufc

Potentially brilliant cup tie. Potentially dreadful cup tie. The replays got a lot more interesting! #LUFC #FACup

Eastleigh or Bolton should be easy enough. However, this is #lufc we're talking about. 🙈

Eastleigh or Bolton away, I'll take that. A decent cup run would do us the world of good this season and get confidence back #LUFC #MOT

A little wit goes a long way…
FA CUP UPDATE – Mr Cellino has launched legal proceedings against the FA. "It is outrageous that we have been drawn against 2 teams." #LUFC

A final word goes to two Leeds fans who can remember ‘The Ides of Histon’…
Do Eastleigh have any postmen playing for them? #lufc
