Coventry City linked with move for QPR midfielder

Coventry City have been linked with a loan move for QPR attacking midfielder Ben Gladwin, according to The Coventry Telegraph.

The 23 year old has returned to Loftus Road after a loan spell at former club Swindon Town. The attacking midfielder signed for QPR from The Robins on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee in the summer.

Gladwin has struggled to break into the first team at Loftus Road and it is understood that The Hoops are willing to once again loan the youngster out this month.

Coventry City Manager Tony Mowbray is an admirer of the versatile midfielder having been impressed with the role which Gladwin played in Swindon Town’s successful run to the League 1 Play Off Final last season and the player could play a similar role at The Ricoh Arena should a move to The Sky Blues materialise.

Gladwin started his career floating around the non league scene after failing to make the grade as a youngster at Reading but was given a chance in The Football League by Swindon Town in 2013 where he impressed.

Coventry City are challenging for promotion back to The Championship and Gladwin could be a useful addition to Tony Mowbray’s side. Mowbray has galvanised The Sky Blues since his appointment as Manager in March 2015.
