Brentford to offer midfielder new contract

Brentford are set to offer midfielder Alan Judge a new contract and end speculation about a move away from the club, according to Get West London.

Judge has been in great form for Brentford so far this season and is the club’s top scorer with ten goals.  This form has attracted clubs to come in for Judge, with Sheffield Wednesday bidding for the winger last week and having their transfer offer turned down.

Dean Smith, Brentford manager, said of the bid: “There was an initial bid for Alan Judge and it was turned down as it was nowhere near meeting our valuation of the player so we move on.”

However the bid has prompted the club to offer Judge a new contract in order to deter future bids from Championship rivals.

Brentford signed Judge from Blackburn Rovers before the London club were promoted from League One.  The midfielder has been one of the club’s most consistent performers since he joined and so him signing a new contract will most likely be a boost for the whole team.
