TV pundit to walk 262 miles for Prostate Cancer UK

The nation’s favourite Saturday afternoon television pundit Jeff Stelling will put on his hiking boots in March to walk 262 miles to complete 10 football marathons in 10 days to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

Prostate Cancer UK is a charity partner of the Football League and is heavily involved with a number of Football League clubs including Scunthorpe United and York City.

A number of clubs host Prostate Cancer UK match days once a season to raise funds for the charity and raise awareness of the disease.

Prostate Cancer affects 1 in 8 men and 1 in 4 black men within their lifetime and is the most common cancer in men. One man an hour dies from Prostate Cancer that’s more than 10,500 a year. The funds raised from Jeff’s walk will be invested in further research in a bid to beat the disease.

On Monday 21 March, Jeff will start his 10 day marathon from his hometown club Hartlepool United and will end the walk on Wednesday 30 March at Wembley.

Hartlepool United have never played at Wembley and Pools fan Stelling is determined to take his club to the famous arch on foot by participating in his marathon.

Details of the full route and clubs participating in Jeff’s walk can be found on the Prostate Cancer UK website at http://prostatecanceruk.org/get-involved/jeff-stellings-men-united-march.
