Bournemouth unlikely to sign QPR goalkeeper

Bournemouth are unlikely to sign Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Rob Green this month, with the club instead deciding to stick with Artur Boruc, according to The Daily Mail.

There have been reports this month that QPR are very keen for Green to leave the club this month, as he doesn’t have a future under new boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.  The goalkeeper is understood to be very close to triggering a clause in his deal that could cause his contract to be extended for a further year at the London club.

After being linked with a move to Premier League Bournemouth, speculation now looks to have ended in this respect with the club deciding to stick with current goalkeeper Artur Boruc.

Queens Park Rangers signed goalkeeper Alex Smithies from fellow Championship side Huddersfield Town in August but the player has made only two league appearances since signing.

New boss Hasselbaink is set to put his faith into the 25 year-old now however, with Green being frozen out and Smithies being made the club’s new number one.
