Crystal Palace latest club to target QPR defender

Crystal Palace are the latest club to be interested in Queens Park Rangers defender Steven Caulker this month, according to The Daily Mail.

It was reported earlier this week that Premier League sides Bournemouth and Sunderland are also interested in signing the defender, who is currently out on loan at Southampton.

Interest from Premier League clubs has sparked this week due to QPR suggesting that they would sell Caulker for the right price.  As the centre-back has experience in the top division, he is attracting a lot of interest from sides who need more defensive options.

Palace boss Alan Pardew saw his side lose 0-3 to Chelsea last week, the heaviest defeat since he took over at the club and is now seeking competition for his current defenders.  Bournemouth have conceded 34 goals in 20 games this season and Sunderland are in the relegation places.

All three clubs could do with a central defender with Premier League experience to help out their current players.
