Aston Villa are scouting players with Championship experience in preparation for being relegated at the end of the season, according to The Mirror.
It is believed that Villa are of the opinion that most of their squad is completely unsuited to Championship football and therefore are beginning to re-shape the team this month. The club are bottom of the table on only eight points and relegation looks a certainty.
In preparation for next season, Villa scouts have reportedly been asked to find players with Championship experience and players on free transfers to go along with big cutbacks.
It is understood that players could even come in this month to try and bed in before the Championship season next year, as Villa look to bounce straight back up to the Premier League.
With rumours of Villa boss Remi Garde only renting an apartment in Birmingham until the summer, it may not be just the team that has to be replaced in summer.
