Championship clubs battle for Aston Villa’s Grealish

Three Championship clubs are battling to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish on loan for the rest of the season, according to The Daily Mail.

The midfielder was a key member of the Aston Villa team under former boss Tim Sherwood but has fallen out of favour at the club recently, with Remi Garde in charge.  Grealish was pictured partying after a heavy defeat and was demoted to the team’s development squad.

With it looking unlikely that the 20-year-old will return to the Villa first team in the near future, Championship clubs have been alerted to his availability.

Leeds United, Queens Park Rangers and Derby County are all understood to be interested in the midfielder, with all three clubs keen to take Grealish on loan for the rest of the season.

It is not known whether Grealish would be open to leaving the club on loan but this would not be the player’s first loan move away from Villa.  Grealish joined Notts County on loan for the 2013-14 season and scored five goals in 37 league games.
