Rangers have confirmed the signings of Accrington Stanley duo Josh Windass and Matt Crooks. Both have signed pre-contract agreements, so will move to Ibrox at the end of the season. Both have signed four-year contracts with the Scottish Championship title challengers.
21-year-old Hull-born Windass, son of Hull City legend Dean, has been in impressive form this season. He has already found the net on 11 occasions in just twenty five games for Stanley so far. He has been linked with big moves throughout the season, with Arsenal said to have been amongst his admirers. The attacking midfielder has played his football at the Crown Ground since moving from Harrogate Railway in July 2013.
Crooks, also 21, is a versatile player that can play either in defence or midfield. He has also been amongst the goals this season, finding the back of the net on seven occasions. After a brief spell at the Manchester United Academy, he made the move to Huddersfield Town and made his first-team debut in August, after years on injuries and loan spells away at clubs such as Halifax Town and Hartlepool United. He also joined Accrington on loan, before penning a permanent deal last year.
Both will look to go out on a high with Accrington and help them achieve promotion into League One, which would be the highest the club would have played their football in their history. Rangers boss Mark Warburton will certainly be keeping a close eye on their progress for the remainder of the campaign.
