Out-of-favour Cardiff strikers set for exit

Cardiff City are preparing to offload out-of-favour strikers Federico Macheda and Alex Revell this January according to Wales Online. This comes just a few days after striker Kenwyne Jones left the club to join Al Jazira.

It is believed that 24-year-old Macheda has already been the subject of interest from several clubs so far in this window. It would appear more likely that he will be heading overseas, possibly back to Italy.

The 24-year-old certainly has had his injury problems since moving to the Cardiff City Stadium in 2014 after being signed by then manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. He has only managed to appear twice off the bench so far this season, with patient from manager Russell Slade appearing to have run out.

As for Revell, he has only recently returned from the club after spending time out on loan with League One side Wigan Athletic. He too is set for the exit door after Slade has supposedly told him that he doesn’t feature in his plans and cannot be guaranteed regular football.

Ever since joining from Rotherham United a year ago, Revell has certainly found goals hard to come by, only managed two in 28 appearances with the Welsh club. He has been made available for loan, although a permanent move isn’t out of the question either.
