Derby complete signing of Reading striker

Derby County have completed the signing of Reading striker Nick Blackman, according to Get Reading.

The 26-year-old joins The Rams after a fee of £3 million plus add ons was agreed between the two sides.

It has been reported that the sides’ officials met this evening to discuss the final touches of the agreement, and have come to a conclusion resulting in Blackman looking set to play the rest of the season in White and Black.

The Former Blackburn Rovers man has impressed massively for The Royals this season, scoring 13 and topping the list of the club’s top goal scorers.

The 6 foot 2 inch striker, who is still eligible to play for the Israeli National team due to his Maternal Grandparents, most recently spent time at Sheffield United, scoring 11 goals in 28 appearances for the club, rightfully earning himself a move to a championship club.

Blackman was reportedly ready to sign for fellow promotion chasers Sheffield Wednesday this morning, but Derby swooped in late to complete the deal.

He joins The Rams fresh after their disappointing and vital loss against Middlesbrough, but will look to make his debut in the FA Cup for the side, when they take on Hartlepool United on Saturday.
