Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal with Charlton Athletic in their pursuit of striker Ademola Lookman, according to The Sun.
Lookman, 18, has been linked with several Premier League clubs since making his debut for Charlton this season, most recently Southampton. However Chelsea look like they have fended off all competition to sign the striker and are close to agreeing a deal.
The striker made his Charlton debut in November last year, scoring his first goal for the club a month later in a Championship defeat to Brighton. Lookman attracted a lot of interest from Premier League clubs after he scored a brace against Bolton Wanderers only ten days later.
Charlton signed the striker from Waterloo FC and Lookman was part of the Championship club’s youth academy at first. Less than two years later, Lookman made his debut for the first team after an impressive goalscoring record for both Charlton’s Under-18 and Under-21 teams.
