Preston North End and Bournemouth are scrapping for Manchester United midfielder Ben Pearson, according to The Sun.
It is understood that Bournemouth want to sign the midfielder permanently, with Preston looking to take Pearson on loan for the rest of the season as they look to survive in the Championship.
Pearson spent the second half of last and the first half of this season on loan at League One side Barnsley, with manager Lee Johnson being “gutted” that the midfielder has finally returned to Manchester United.
Pearson performed well during his time at Barnsley, especially this season. The midfielder was a key part of the first team and made a total of 29 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
Signing for Preston would definitely be less of a step-up for Pearson, but the midfielder could be tempted by the Premier League football that Bournemouth can offer.
