Wolves forward wanted by Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace are reportedly planning a £20m double swoop for Wolves striker Benik Afobe and Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, according to the Daily Mail.

The former Arsenal forward has scored 10 goals this season and has been linked with a move to Derby County after it emerged that the Rams were preparing to table a record fee for the 22-year-old.

Afobe joined Wolves in 2015 and netted 13 goals in 21 appearances in the second half of last season as the club narrowly missed out on a top six finish.

Alan Pardew has overseen an excellent season so far at Selhurst Park with the Eagles sitting in seventh place after 20 games.

However he is keen to bolster his attacking options and has also been linked with moves for Chelsea striker Loic Remy and QPR forward Charlie Austin.

After his side’s 3-0 home loss to Chelsea on Sunday, he said: “We have beenhappy with Connor Wickham but he has been out for long periods and we have done unbelievably well without him at times.”

“If we can keep him and Dwight Gayle fit, and get Marouane Chamakh up to speed, we will be okay. But we are still looking at the market to see if there is anything with a bit of value.”
