Scunthorpe United have signed Scottish centre back Murray Wallace for an undisclosed fee.

The former Falkirk man, who joined Huddersfield for £300,000 in 2012, spent the first half of the 2015/16 campaign on loan at Scunthorpe, making 13 appearances for the side and impressing manager Mark Robins greatly.

The 22-year-old appeared in Blue and White stripes 42 times, scoring three times, before being loaned to the Lincolnshire outfit this season.

The Iron have slightly struggled this season, maintaining a very mediocre position, currently sitting in 15th. The team don’t seem to be in any threat of relegation, but won’t be pushing for promotion any time soon.

The signing of Wallace comes ahead of what is probably their most important match of the season, clashing heads against Premier League champions Chelsea in the Third round of the FA Cup.
