Newly appointed Fulham Head Coach Slavisa Jokanovic has told Sky Sports that he is only focused on signing new players, rather than selling them. This comes as in-form strikers Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele are linked with moves away from Craven Cottage.
The Daily Mail believe that top of the table Championship side Middlesbrough have expressed in interest in luring McCormack to the club. The 29-year-old joined Fulham in July 2014 from Leeds United for a deal in the region of £11million.
Sky Sports also suggest that talented youngster Dembele is on the radar of several Premier League clubs, including Everton and Tottenham Hotspur. The 19-year-old has impressed since breaking into the starting eleven earlier this season when Kit Symons was in charge and even attracted the attentions of Bayern Munich not that long ago as well.
However Jokanovic, who won promotion out of the Championship with Watford last season only to depart because of contract negotiation issues, insists that they don’t want to lose their best players in January,
“I am not thinking about selling my key players like McCormack or Moussa Dembele. I don’t plan for it and that’s it.
This team needs some fresh blood and we are thinking about some players who can help us in the future.”
Both players have scored 25 goals between them so far this season and without them then Fulham would certainly be even lower down the table in the Championship. McCormack is in fact the joint-top scorer in the whole league, alongside Burnley’s Andre Gray.
