Yesterday we covered the story surrounding the strong rumours that Derby County are prepared to break their record transfer fee to lure Benik Afobe to the club. The Wolverhampton Wanderers striker has been constantly linked with a move away from Molineux for most of the season.
Whilst it has been a challenging season for Afobe and Wolves, they are beginning to turn the corner, with the 1-0 away victory over Brighton being another big step back in the right direction. Nevertheless, speculation regarding Afobe will not go away. If Derby do offer the money then it could be too good to turn down for Wolves, who are still up for sale.
We thought we’d take a look at Twitter just to see if signing Afobe for a record fee would indeed be a wise move for Derby County. Whilst some aren’t so sure, it would be fair to say the majority of Rams fans are of the opinion that former Arsenal youngster Afobe would be an excellent signing, although the price is a bit of an issue…..:
Being massively linked with Afobe today, I could this this one coming tbh, great striker who scores goals for fun #dcfc

Benik Afobe linked with #DCFC– rate him highly, but £10m is stupid money. He'd have to be the difference between autos and play offs.

Would love Afobe. Quality. Pace, power + finishing. Will cost a lot. To another champ club Difficult to replace. Spells end of Bent. #dcfc

Surely if we pay £10m for Afobe, we will go against FFP rules, there is a limit to what we can pay this season, £30m is way too much! #dcfc

Afobe rumours = 10 million.
Bojan realse clause = 10 million.
I know which I would rather have… #dcfc
