Leicester win the race for Birmingham winger

Premier League side Leicester City believe they have won the race to sign highly-rated Birmingham City winger Demarai Gray, according to the Mirror.

The 19-year-old has been the subject of interest from a number of Premier League clubs this season, including Tottenham, Bournemouth and Southampton.

The Mirror are reporting that Gray has a £3.75 million buyout clause in his contract, a clause that current Premier League high-flyers Leicester City have taken advantage of.

Gray has reportedly chosen Leicester as the team he wants to join and formal talks between Birmingham City and Leicester City are expected to take place this coming week.

Gray has featured a total of 24 times for Birmingham this season, scoring one goal and helping out with one assist. He has also played for the Blues in the League Cup.

Leicester are reportedly prepared to bring Gray straight into the first-team set-up as they look to continue their push towards success in the Premier League this season, and the winger could well feature in Europe next season if the Foxes continue their good form.
