Ex-Tranmere defender Will Vaulks, signed by Falkirk in February 2013 from non-league Workington FC is garnering interest after a series of performances in the Scottish Championship side according to a report in the Mail Online.

Vaulks has played 18 Scottish Championship games this season as either a defensive/central midfielder or right back, scoring five goals in the process. The 22-year old Vaulks started his career at then League One Tranmere but found it hard to break into the first team squad, drifting to non-League football with Workington before his move to Scotland in 2013.

However, a series of consistent performances for the Scottish second-tier side, bigger names are watching over youngster Vaulks with the Mail Online saying that, “Vaulks has also been watched by Norwich, Celtic Wigan and Rangers,” as well as European giants Sporting Lisbon in what the Mail Online call a “surprise interest following Vaulks’ performances in recent weeks.”

Should the interest of these teams firm up then it will likely mean that League One Wigan Athletic may well find themselves at the tail-end of a long queue looking upwards at the likes of Norwich, Celtic and then Sporting Lisbon in front of them.
