We all sit here at this moment in time, me typing this and you doing whatever you were doing at 22.15 on Christmas, stuffed to the point of explosion and likely our insides awash with alcohol. Tomorrow will be either fun or fatal.

Leeds United released the following video via their LUTV in-house media company in which the club’s players wish the club’s legion of fans a Merry Christmas. Starting with a simple ‘What’s your earliest Christmas memory?’, repsonses started with Liam Cooper, Jordan Botaka and Chris Wood before a bearded Ross Turnbull comes on and gives a bit of ho…ho..holiday memory cheer. Next up it’s young goalkeepers Eric Grimes and Bailey Peacock-Farrell before team boss Steve Evans turns up resplendently bedecked in a tumbling white beard. Then it all descends into a fit of midfield and young giggles over bikes as gifts.

Three memories from the video

Liam Cooper: “Waking my mum and Dad up at four o’clock on Christmas Day, every year without doubt.”

Chris Wood: “It has to be when I was very young back in New Zealand, waking up and finding the stockings at the end of the bed.”

Lee Erwin: “Christmas Day and my Auntie made me wear a minging shirt. So I spilt some food down it so I could wear a football top.

I’ll leave the rest for you to discover.

I hope you’ve had a great Christmas.
