Away from home and 3-0 down on the half hour is not a good place to be. That’s what Huddersfield Town fans are facing at this very moment as they trail Brentford by a quick-fire trio of goals.
As the half time break approaches, goals from Sergi Canos (5′), Lasse Vibe (21′) and Alan Judge (31′) have the Terriers looking more like the terrorised as they blatantly fail to deal with the attacking threat posed by their London opponents. Brentford have had six total shots with all six being on target against a lacklustre performance by Town who haven’t registered a shot at all.
David Wagner arrived in West Yorkshire from Dusseldorf promising a german-syle of ‘gegen fußball’; a more pressing and high-tempo brand of football than what English spectators are accustomed to. What’s more ‘pressing’ for the moment is how the Yorkshire side are going to stem the tide in the second half because a similar performance to the first half will see more disgruntled Huddersfield fans than there are already venting on Twitter.

@BoltonTerrier I can't even see a turd to polish.

This is about as bad as I've seen town play in a very long time. #htafc

Possibly the worst 45 minutes I've ever seen a team play. Not a single shot and only entered Brentford's box twice. Woeful. #htafc

@WYSdaily Not often I say this, but the first half performance by #htafc was an embarrassment. Wells/Bunn/Scanz all on for second half #bull

I know Brentford are a very good team and play good football, but this is embarrassing. #htafc

Ah Huddersfield hit their annual Christmas/New Year form a week early this year. Hudson sounding as much as a liability as ever. #htafc

Don't single anyone out. This is a spineless, talentless performance from front to back. #HTAFC

Some fans are not blaming the manager at all, saying the blame lies elsewere…

It’s been a long 45 minutes for Huddersfield Town who’ve been put to the sword by a ruthless Brentford side; it could very well be an even longer second 45 unless the flow is staunched.
