Bolton Defender Target For Three Championship Clubs

Bolton Wanderers defender Dorian Dervite is reportedly a target for three Championship clubs as the club’s financial crisis deepens.

QPR, Fulham and Leeds are all in the hunt to sign the 27-year old Frenchman after Neil Lennon expressed his concern over a potential mass player exodus yesterday.

Bolton have declared they face a winding up order and sit over £170 million in debt meaning they will certainly be forced to sell-off some of their best players.

Bolton’s players haven’t been paid in November and Lennon has stated his players can leave their contracts if a repeat occurs in December.

Dervite has an impressive resume of clubs on his CV including Lille and Villarreal, and has established himself as a regular starter for the Trotters this season.

Having played for Tottenham and Charlton, heading back to London could be appealing for the Frenchman, with Fulham and QPR looking to offer him a return to the capital.

Meanwhile, Leeds have three centre backs in Sol Bamba, Giuseppe Bellusci and Liam Cooper, but manager Steve Evans may look for more depth in defence, and a cut-price raid on Bolton for Dervite could make some sense in January.

Bolton currently prop up the Championship table having won just once in 20 games this season, and face Charlton away on Tuesday evening.
