Later today, Leeds United will walk out into a London afternoon, hoping that encountering Charlton will be more of a charge of the Whites brigade than a futile stumble in the Valley of death.
A much-improved performance last time out against Hull, a game where Leeds totally dominated the opening 45 minutes, eventually saw the Whites run out 2-1 winners. After a number of poor performances, including a brace of 1-0 losses to Rotherham (home) and QPR (away), Leeds weren’t expected to get anything other than an ass-whupping against high-flying Hull.
However, as us Leeds fans know, the motto ‘expect the unexpected’ has something of a ring around the four stands of Elland Road. A club where the owner has more court appearances than Harry Grout, a club where a £5 Pie-Tax creates social media uproar amongst fans and where despite bad performances the fans keep flocking back every week.
The result against Hull City, a more than respectable three points for Leeds was received well on social media. But what about the forthcoming Charlton game?

Charlton today then. Impossible to predict. Think both teams will go for it. Going for a 3-3 ding dong. #lufc

It all seems positive on social media, let’s hope the result matches the fan feelings.
