After seeing off Worcester City and Oldham Athletic in previous rounds, Sheffield United were in with a chance of facing off against one of the Premier League’s big sides in Monday’s FA Cup Third Round draw.
The luck of the draw gave them that big tie, and the Blades will travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in early January.
Struggling with form in recent weeks, there is much talk of the managerial situation with increasing pressure mounting on boss Nigel Adkins. However this draw will surely bring the talk back to on-the-pitch matters.
The finance side of the game also looks good too, with the Blades set to receive a seven-figure financial windfall from the fixture.
The draw caused a lot of talk and excitement amongst fans and they took to Twitter to express their thoughts on the tie…
Hope BT or bbc don't ruin our FA cup match!! Let's have it on the Saturday at 3pm please! #twitterblades

Someone has come up with a solution for ticketing…
Fairest solution. Tickets for Old Trafford will only be sold to Blades fans who make a bacofoil effigy of the FA Cup #sufc #twitterblades

Football is a bit funny like that…
I'm not confident about Coventry at home Sunday, but confident of beating Man U away, football is a funny old game #twitterblades #SUFC

For some, reality kicked in a bit…
Excitement of draw has subsided slightly due to the thought of Neill Collins v Anthony Martial. #twitterblades
