Hull have signed 18-year-old defender Adam Curry from non-league side South Shields on a two-year deal following a successful trial, the Hull Daily Mail reports.
Curry has been tipped for a big future by former Middlesbrough midfielder Julio Arca, who was a teammate of the teenager at South Shields FC. In a recent interview, Arca said “Adam could have a very good career ahead of him” he later added, “He is a really good player and is still very young”.
Hull City are now becoming known to scout for talent from non-league. They have previously signed Greg Luer form Burgess Hill Town and Calaum Jahraldo-Martin from Dulwich Hamlet. Both of these have featured in the Tigers first team this season.
Curry is likely to play a key role in the Hull City development squad this season and may even feature for the Tigers in their Youth Cup match against Norwich this evening.
