Wolves, Jackett committed to Wolves despite QPR links

Jackett committed to Wolves despite QPR links

Kenny Jackett has committed his future to Wolves, despite speculation linking him with the vacant QPR job.

He is one of a number of names to have been linked with the vacancy at Loftus Road, including ex Premier Leagues bosses Nigel Pearson and Tim Sherwood.

Rangers are searching for a new boss to replace the axed Chris Ramsey, who was sacked at the start of November after a run of poor results left the club languishing in mid table, despite being one of the pre season favourites to win promotion.

However, 53 year old Jackett, who has managed Watford, Swansea and Millwall in the past has committed his future to the West Midlands club.

He also rejected claims that QPR have made an official approach for his services.

Jackett has history with the West  Londoners, having served as their assistant manager from 2001-2004.

The 53 year old told the Express and Star:

“It’s not my position to talk about other clubs. But there hasn’t been any approach to myself, or as far as I’m aware, the club, so there’s nothing to say on it.”

“It’s not something that’s come to me. I’m committed to Wolves and speculation is just that, speculation.”

“I want to get things right [here]. I understand in terms of winning games and league position we are not where we want to be.”

“But there has been no approach from QPR and I have not heard anything in terms of any other clubs.”

Jackett has found himself under increasing speculation this season, as his Wolves side have struggled to make an impact in the Sky Bet Championship, despite a strong campaign last time out.
Wolves currently lie 15th after 18 matches.
