Hasselbaink, QPR want Hasselbaink as new boss

QPR want Hasselbaink as new boss

Queens Park Rangers want Burton Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to replace axed boss Chris Ramsey, according to the Daily Mail

Ramsey was sacked earlier this month following a poor run of form and QPR’s director of football, Les Ferdinand has identified Hasselbaink as his main target to replace him.

However, Burton, who currently lie fourth in League One, claim that they have yet to receive any official approach for the man who took them into the third tier for the first time in their history.

‘The team and the manager have done fantastically well over the last 12 months and that inevitably means that there will be speculation when job vacancies arise,’ said Ben Robinson, Burton’s chairman.

However, Les Ferdinand and chief executive Lee Hoos believe that Hasselbaink would be interested in taking the job at the West London club. They also would not be deterred by his lack of managerial experience at Championship level, with Burton being his only job as a manager in this country.

Neil Warnock is currently in temporary charge at Loftus Road and has expressed an interest in getting the job on a permanent basis.

The R’s currently lie 13th in the Championship and face a tough trip to high flying Middlesborough on Friday night.
