Birmingham leading race for ex-Colchester man

Birmingham are winning the race to sign Dominic Vose, according to The Sun.

Rotherham, Sheffield Wednesday and Wolves are also keen on signing the 21-year old but it is the St Andrew’s side who are reportedly leading the race to sign him.

Vose has recently gained a lot of interest for a series of impressive performances for current club Wrexham. He has played 20 times for the Conference club this year, bagging 9 goals along the way.

It’s been enough to attract serious interest from several Championship clubs and Birmingham are now determined to seal a deal for the attacking midfielder either in January or at the end of the current campaign.

The 21-year old rose up through the ranks at West Ham, a club where players such as Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand also came through. He was brought up to the first-team in 2010 but after two years with no first-team action, the club let him go. Despite the lack of action, coming up through the ranks of a Premier League club means he will have been taught and trained well.

Vose does also have Football League experience, as he played for Colchester from 2013 to 2014. He featured 34 times for the club during that stint, scoring none, before deciding to look elsewhere to gain more first-team football.

It seems he has now finally started to truly shine and Birmingham are ready to take a chance on him and bring him back into the Football League.
