Blades extend contract of exciting youngster

Sheffield United have extended the contract of promising young midfielder Kieran Wallace, reports their official website.

The 20-year-old joined the Blades from Ilkeston Town last November but due to several eye catching performances in a multitude of positions this season, manager Nigel Adkins has moved quickly to tie him up on a longer deal.

“We are very pleased to have extended Kieran’s contract and we hope it will give him more stability moving forward. Since the day he joined, his attitude, behaviour and commitment has been first class and he is improving as a player all the time.” Adkins said.

“He has certainly done very well this season and we believe he is in an environment with the right people round him to develop further. Now he has more security we are confident he will continue on that upward development curve.”

Wallace is tipped for a bright future and has already played 15 times for United’s first team this season and has represented England at under-16 and under-17 level.
