Everton are looking to sign Sheffield Wednesday striker Lucas Joao, according to a report.
Joao signed for Sheffield Wednesday from Portuguese side Nacional in July, signing a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee. However only four months into his time in the Championship, the striker could be about to make the step up into the Premier League.
Joao has been in impressive form this season, scoring twice so far in the league, but had arguably his best game in a Wednesday shirt against Arsenal in the League Cup. Joao was one of the scorers as the Premier League side were knocked out of the competition with a 3-0 defeat.
Performances like this have attracted the interest of top clubs, and Roberto Martinez is believed to have watched the striker already this season.
Everton are drawing up a list of targets to replace Romelu Lukaku should he leave the club in either January or at the end of the season and Joao is being treated as a player with great potential.
