Neville rules out Blackburn job

Phil Neville has ruled himself (and David Moyes) out of the running for the vacant Blackburn job, according to Sports Mole.

Blackburn are currently manager-less after the sacking of Gary Bowyer and there are a multitude of names who have been linked with the job.

Two of them are David Moyes and Phil Neville. They both worked together at Everton back when the latter of the two was still a player but with Neville now in management, there was a possibility the two of them could work together again, this time as manager and assistant.

However, Neville – who is currently the assistant manager at Valencia – has ruled himself (and presumably David Moyes) out of the running by taking to his Twitter.

He was asked whether or not he and Moyes would be taking the Blackburn hotseat and he replied with an emphatic “No.”

It rules two candidates out but not the main target – that title goes to Paul Lambert, who is reportedly on the shortlist not just for the job at Ewood Park but also at Fulham and QPR too.

The ex-Aston Villa manager has, according to reports, held initial talks with Blackburn and QPR about taking over at either club and it is now a matter of him making a decision and a deal being put together by one of the clubs.
